What the leadership conference has done for you? The Rotary Club's S eminar for Tomorrow's Leaders has had a terrific influence on my life. My group was fantastic and I met many incredible folks who gave me hope that this world can be a different kind of place if there are more enthusiastic, caring and smart people like that around. This conference built up my confidence to pursue politics and engage in issues that really mattered to me. Coming back the next few years as a Leader has also been incredible. What the leadership conference has done for you? (or what you've learned from it): Everyday, I work with UN diplomats and ambassadors, State Department officials, and leading scholars within the international arena, and I can still say without a doubt that I've met the most incredible people in my life at the conference. The delegates and leaders I've met have inspired me and taught me the most valuable lessons I've ever learned. Even though I only see them once or maybe twice a year, I still consider some of these people my closest friends. High school: Lambton Central C.V.I., Petrolia
What I do now: I strut around the beautiful University of Western Ontario campus, peering at the lovely archetecture, constantly thinking, "these are wonderful facilities...I sure am glad I learn at such a dandy institution." At this incredible school, I study Visual Art...Much of my time is also consumed with Western's Cross Country and Track & Field teams where I frolic around in short shorts.
# of years at the conference: 3
Hobbies: multimedia art, running, playing instruments.
Favourite movie: I just can't get through movies anymore
Favourite music: Animal Collective, Antony and the Johnsons, Songs: Ohia, Rich Laviolette's wonderful Mary Carl.
Favourite book: Peter Rabbit
Favourite quote: This is the first day of my life. I swear I was born right in the doorway. I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed. They're spreading blankets on the beach (Bright Eyes)
Interesting fact: I'm not much of a knowledge or facts man, but I do know that my body odor smells like mint leaves freshly plucked from the garden.
Little blurb about yourself: I'm a second year visual art student at Western, and art has pretty much taken over my life. What do I plan to do with my existence? Live modestly, and change the world. I have recently taken a liking to projectors, slide, overhead, LCD...We'll see where that takes me. Besides that, I like doing stuff, and things. One thing I enjoy is helping at the Leadership conference.
What the leadership conference has done for you? (or what you've learned from it): Much like Danny-boy, I was once a shy young fellow. I did not speak very much, and when I did, there was a wee-little-wimper protruding from my vocal cords. After visiting the University of Western Ontario for the SEMINAR, I broke from my box, and I became quite a weird young energy ball. |
